Our Core Curriculum
All branches of our school lead to matriculation standard qualification. Passing 10th form is equivalent to a secondary school qualification.
On the way to matriculation standard, children will be taught the usual wide range of general subjects:
- German, mathematics, religion/ethics and sports are taught in all forms.
- Biology, physics and chemistry offer profound knowledge in sciences.
- Geography, history, economics and law, and social studies represent the social field.
- Music and arts provide education in fine arts.
Two foreign languages are compulsory for all pupils.
- English as the 1st foreign language in the 5th form
- French or Latin as a 2nd language in the 6th form
From 8th form onwards, we offer two different educational branches:
- The language branch with Italian, Spanish or French (only in combination with Latin) as the 3rd foreign language
- The economic and social branch with the focus on social studies, practical social training, chemistry and household/nutrition instead of the 3rd foreign language
The core curriculum reflects a variety, of which a pupil can choose according to his/her skills and likes. But Non scholae, sed vitae discimus. That is why we also support pupils' talents in music, sports and fine arts. There is a number of work groups and optional courses:
